About the Producer

The Chavy family has been cultivating vines in Puligny Montrachet for over two hundred years. After selling grapes to wine merchants for many years, family members began to branch out and establish their own brands with each generation. Philippe Chavy owns a total of 8 hectares of vineyards, which are spread across 30 different plots, all of which are planted with a significant number of old vines. Most of the Puligny vineyards were planted by his father in the 1950s, while his Meursault vineyard was inherited from his mother's Ropiteau family, which can be traced back to the 1930s. Philippe Chavy firmly believes that without high-quality grapes, it is impossible to produce good wine. Since taking over the estate in the 1990s, he has been practicing biodynamic farming, avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides and controlling yields, thereby maintaining a healthy ecosystem in the vineyards, which consistently provide the winery with high-quality raw materials.
