Tasting notes

Reviewed by: William Kelley
Another high point chez Charlopin is the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice, a perfumed, charming wine bursting with notions of red berries and plums mingled with peonies, oranges, rose petals and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, ample and supple, with melting tannins and a sensuous style, it's already drinking well.
About the Producer
The hotel is located in Chambertin, Geweirui, and it has wines from Château de la Nocée, Château de Beaune and Chablis. Established in 1977, Philippe Charlopin took over the family business and relocated the vines from only 1.5 hectares to 25 hectares. Philip Charlobon was one of the disciples of Henri Jayer, the god of Burgundy, and he was deeply influenced by Jayer. The wine is rich and healthy, but it does not lose the style of fishing. It has a round and silky hood, and it is a wine with a high rigidity ratio.
