Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Robert M. Parker, Jr.
The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Bin 707's dense ruby/purple color is followed by a tight but promising nose of black currants, leather, and licorice. In the mouth, there are abundant quantities of black currant fruit as well as hints of creosote, earth, truffles, and subtle oak. The acidity is high, much of it probably added, which is unfortunate as the raw materials look impressive. The high acidity compresses the palate and pinches the finish. Nevertheless, this is a very good Cabernet that should drink well for 10-12 years. Importer: Southcorp Wines, The Americas, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 258-8755
