The 2022 Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz has an old-reading-room character to the bouquet: soft leather and old books, cassis, tobacco, fireplace and dark chocolate. In the mouth, the wine is chewy and supple, succulent and truly lovely. There's plenty of tannin here, but they feel easily digested and nicely integrated. The wine matured for 12 months in French hogsheads (30% new).

This surprisingly bold 2022 Shiraz Bin 128 from Coonawarra is dense and muscular with meaty, black olive and dried spice aromas that are tight and focused. Bold and drying, with a firm core of flavor that builds earthy, savory nuances before finishing with robust tannins to finish. A different style to 2021 but equally pleasurable.
