Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Rebecca Gibb MW
The 2019 Clos Serteaux is a rich, powerful wine with masses of silky softness. Planted in 2004 on a small, steep slope overlooking the Loire on sandstone and schist, the vines offer a densely concentrated, mid-weight expression that's finely textured and delectable. The finish is firm in acidity with a salty feel and pastry-like scent. There's the merest touch of warmth on the finish, but it doesn't detract from the overall harmony and is a very minor quibble.
