Millemann, Sous Puits, Puligny Montrachet, 1er Cru, Burgundy, White, 2022
About the Producer
Pierre Millemann grew up between Anjou, where his parents lived, and Alsace where his grandparents lived. His father and grandfather, both wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs, quickly started transmitting their passion. Pierre started studying in Paris. During his first internship, he met René Renou, an important figure in the wine industry, who soon became his mentor. Fascinated by the development of the wine, Pierre understood very quickly that the terroir was the key. He got working experience in Chateau Carbonnieux in Pessac Leognan and Charles Heidsieck. During his work at Jura, he worked as a cellar master, where he met his wife Stephanie. Pierre completed his master's degree in oenology in Dijon. They have started their oenological advisory business in 2003. The family now works with the best estates in Burgundy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and United States. Pierre has started producing wine since 2017. Their oenological approach is double-sided, by working both in the vineyard and the cellar. He made his debut with his Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, which was immediately well received in the wine world. Given his knowledge, expertise and finesse, it was no wonder that his wines would turn out well.
