The 2023 Meursault Les Grands Charrons has a composed bouquet with citrus fruit, lime and light wilted white flower scents that unfold gently in the glass. The palate is well balanced with orange pith and hints of white pepper, quite linear and Puligny-like in style. Perhaps it stops just short of the finish line on the close, but still, it will give several years' drinking pleasure.

About the Producer

Domaine Michel Bouzereau is definitely one of the most popular wineries in Meursault right now, as he has since 2020 been awarded three stars by the "Best French Wine Guide", making him the equal of Domaine d'Auvenay. In addition to being on an equal footing with Domaine D'Auvenay, he is also admired by the current owner of Coche Dury: "We have to be better than the people we work with in every way and at every stage, in order to show them that we insist on The cultivation of high-quality grapes promoted in the winery.” Even though the styles are different, the two wineries still share the same core philosophy: extremely high requirements, elevating the wine to the pinnacle of the region. It is even more important to mention that Michel Bouzereau's Meursault 1er cru Perrières is no less than Coche Dury, both of which received the highest honor of three stars in our "Best French Wine Guide". Jean-Baptiste, owner of Michel Bouzereau, observes the growth of the fruit in the vineyard all year round! We firmly believe that precise harvest time can bring the best ripeness of grapes! His philosophy is to work hard, harvest at the right time and with the least intervention, allowing the grapes to naturally develop into the wine that best represents the plot! He often said: a Meursault should show the depth and quality of the Meursault! Through 20 years of observation and testing in the cellar, Jean-Baptiste's wines are pure and full, showing the precise characteristics of the land! Bouzereau is a family of historic wine farmers in the village of Meursault. The seventh generation of Jean-Baptiste followed his father Michel for ten years, learning to grow and brew. Take over in 1999, a total of 12.7 hectares of vineyards, of which 11 hectares of white vineyards, most of which are located in Meursault, including the best first-class parks Perrières and Genevrières! And the Puligny-Montrachet super park Cailleret! Rigorous bud removal in spring, barrel change in late summer and early autumn, 15-35% medium toasted oak barrels are used for first-class gardens to soak with lees for 3-6 months before bottling. Jean-Baptiste takes care of every detail to brew the best Meursault!
