The 2018 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi shows the wilder side of Nebbiolo in its virile, potent personality. The flavors are dark and mysterious. Dark cherry, dried flowers, lavender, asphalt, spice and scorched earth develop, adding to the wine's decidedly somber personality. The Terlo is an intriguing wine that has a ton to offer.

Very enticing, almost incense-like nose, featuring ripe red berries, cranberries, roses and a blend of roasting spices. Medium-to full-bodied with a silky front-palate, then a light build of firm tannin. This shows good heart and soul and will even out into a very good wine. Give it time. Try from 2024.
About the Producer
The history of the Poderi (estates) Luigi Einaudi started in 1897, when Luigi Einaudi, still only 23 years old, acquired the farmhouse ‘San Giacomo’ in the burgh of Dogliani surrounded by 40 Piedmontese giornate of vineyards (40 acres). The family Einaudi inherited the passion of continuous improvement of their vineyards. Poderi 11 farmhouses in the best position in Dogliani and Barolo, share the total area of the estate that is about 145 hectares, 104 of which are situated in the burgh of Dogliani, 7 in that of Barolo, on the hills of Cannubi and Terlo Vie Nuove, and 3 on the hills of Treiso.
