Tasting notes

Deep red. Mineral-driven crushed black raspberry and crushed rock aromas are complemented by notes of molten dark chocolate and espresso. A huge wine of great sweetness and depth; conveys an almost candied character but also an impression of medicinal reserve and powerful extract. The superb, slowly building finish goes on and on. More harmonious today than the RSV.

The 2009 Richebourg towers with its imposing stature and regal, aristocratic personality. It is an inward, cool wine laced with gorgeous dark red fruit. Today, the Richebourg is very much closed in on itself, but it should be a jewel of a wine once it starts to blossom in bottle. That could very well take over a decade. 2022-2039. About the Producer

Domaine Lucien Le Moine is a small-scale, boutique winery based in Burgundy, France. It was established in 1999 by Mounir and Rotem Saouma, who named the estate after their son, Lucien. The winery is known for its meticulous approach to winemaking, focusing on producing limited quantities of high-quality wines. The philosophy behind Domaine Lucien Le Moine revolves around the concept of "micro-negotiant." Rather than owning their own vineyards, Mounir and Rotem carefully select grapes from trusted growers across various appellations in Burgundy. This allows them to have control over every aspect of the winemaking process, from vineyard management to the final bottling. The winery's production is extremely limited, with a focus on premier cru and grand cru vineyards.
