Hints of reduction, which will likely dissipate by the time this wine is bottled, mingle with notes of ripe orchard fruit, smoke, oatmeal and beeswax in an attractive bouquet, introducing the 2017 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, a full-bodied, satiny white with a rich, layered core, juicy acids and a saline finish. It's a precocious Bâtard in the making.

The 2017 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is performing well from bottle, bursting with aromas of orange oil, honeyed pears and toasted nuts. Full-bodied, rich and muscular while remaining lively and succulent, it's already drinking well.

A very impressive nose with plenty of lemon and grapefruit on offer, as well as hazelnutty oak influence and some stony nuances. Very rich and quite exotic fruit on the palate, in the peach, nectarine and mango spectrum. Well cast oak warms and spices up the finish. Complex and generous Bâtard. Drink or hold.
