From the property formerly known as Laville Haut-Brion, the 2013 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is one of the great dry whites of the vintage. Aromas of tangerine oil, caramelized grapefruit, figs and honeysuckle soar from this medium to full-bodied, rich, concentrated white wine. With terrific acidity as well as a vibrant, medium- to full-bodied mouthfeel and finish, it should provide immense pleasure for at least 2-3 decades.

The 2013 La Mission Haut Brion Blanc, a blend of 24% Sauvignon Blanc and 76% Semillon, had a surprisingly backward, stoic bouquet that frankly refused to come out to play when I tasted it at the château. The palate is much better and more representative, very well balanced and powerful, with notes of grapefruit and honeysuckle, quite spicy towards the finish, as if making up for the reticence on the nose. This is a La Mission Haut Brion Blanc that I suspect will grow up to be outgoing and maybe even fiery, but it will require several years in bottle to settle down.

Grapefruit, lemon, crushed rocks and white flowers inform the 2013 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, the estate's Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc blend. Bright and finely chiseled to the core, the 2013 boasts striking energy to match its layers of saline-infused flavors.

(76% semillon and 24% sauvignon blanc; 46 h/h yield): Bright, pale yellow-gold. Subtly complex aromas of white stone fruits, lime, nut oil, nutmeg, menthol and bitter grapefruit. A huge, deep wine with laser-like acidity lifting the highly concentrated tropical fruit, white peach, spice and herb flavors. As youthfully chewy, thick and palate-staining as this is, it's also wonderfully light on its feet, showing uncommon class. One of the ten best Bordeaux wines of the year.

A white with a fabulous minerality and citrus character as well as hints of papaya and other tropical fruits. Full body with a wonderful backbone and length. Focused and powerful. Half sauvignon blanc and half sémillon.
About the Producer
25 hectares of red grape varieties, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, are planted in the traditional vineyard of the winery; the Werner family's vineyard also has 4 hectares of white grape varieties, including Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, used for Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc at different times during the Werner family's reign And the production of the original Chateau Laville Haut-Brion Blanc (Chateau Laville Haut-Brion Blanc). The Werner family's original Chateau La Tour Haut-Brion ceased production after 2005, and the 5 hectares of vineyards it owns are mainly used for the blending of the second red wine of Chateau Meixun. In terms of wine production, the winery will set up screening stations on trucks in the vineyard to screen the manually picked grapes for the first time. Fermentation is then carried out in a stainless steel wine tank equipped with a computer-controlled system that monitors the homogenization and temperature of the wine after measuring the temperature of the pressed grape juice and residue. Clarified with fresh egg whites before bottling, but not filtered.
