About the Producer
The history of J-M Sélèque dates back to 1965 when Henri Sélèque and his father-in-law, Jean Bagnost, planted their first vines in Pierry, France. Henri's son, Richard, joined the winery in 1974 and introduced modern equipment and techniques to expand the estate's production. After Henri's passing in 1995, the 'Comédie' blend was created in his honor. In 2008, Jean-Marc, the third generation, joined the estate, bringing a fresh perspective to Champagne production. Located in Pierry, a Premier Cru-level area in the Vallée de la Marne, J-M Sélèque focuses on growing Meunier grapes in its south-facing orchards. Today, Jean-Marc and his wife Oriane cultivate 9 hectares of orchards, mainly consisting of Chardonnay, Meunier, and Pinot Noir, across various plots in the region.
