From a site with deeper soils a touch lower down the slope, Devevey's 2019 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune 18 Lunes exhibits aromas of pear, blanched almonds, preserved lime and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's fleshy and precise, with a seamless, complete profile and a long, saline finish. As its name suggests, it sees 18 months' élevage.
About the Producer
Jean-Yves Devevey is a renowned winemaker in the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, France. His family has been involved in winemaking since 1991 when Jean-Yves took over the family vineyards and established the Domaine du Bois Guillaume winery in the village of Demigny. Over the years, Jean-Yves has focused on organic and biodynamic practices in his vineyards, allowing the unique terroir of the region to shine through in his wines. He is particularly known for his Pinot Noir and Chardonnay bottlings from appellations such as Rully, Volnay, and Beaune Premier Cru. One of the special things about the Devevey winery is its commitment to meticulous, low-intervention winemaking. Jean-Yves strictly controls yields in the vineyards, and employs gentle pressing and minimal use of sulfites to preserve the purity and expression of the grapes.
