The NV Brut Invitation (2016 base) is a very pretty, lifted Champagne with lovely aromatics and plenty of immediacy. I would prefer to drink this gracious, airy NV Champagne over the next few years. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: December, 2019.

Based on the 2016 vintage and disgorged in January 2020 with five grams per liter dosage, the latest release of the NV Brut Invitation offers up aromas of apples, pears and toasted bread. Medium to full-bodied, vinous and nicely concentrated, it's fleshy and textural, with racy acids, ripe fruit and a pillowy mousse.
About the Producer
Champagne Huré-Fréres started just over 50 years ago and still very much a family business. Huré-Fréres locate at Ludes in the Montagne de Reims, run by Raoul Huré and his two sons, Francois and Pierre. They believe that Champagne is a patchwork quilt of different terroirs with each Village, each slope, and eachplot of land offering its own unique aromatic profile. When it comes to winemaking they select only the finest grapes to make champagnes that are complex and elegant: a living reflection, in fact, of the soil from which they are born. Their winemaking is a continuous flow of processes and procedures. Another important factor that they take into consideration is the preservation of the various 'grape personalities'. Over time, the grape to be rich, balanced and fruity. By means of environmentally sustainable farming practices, the grapes are given the opportunity to express their various personalities and reach their full dynamism within a relatively short period of time. And produce a high-quality Champagne, clearly evident in the colour, on the nose, and on the pallet. Quantities may vary from year to year, which is dependant on a number of factors. Being able to adapt according to the vintage is vital and picking depends on the maturity of the grapes from the various villages and blocks. Their desire to produce champagnes with character drives them to vinify each village, each varietal, and each parcel (where the size of the parcels allow it) separately. Making distinctive wines from a wide variety of terroirs is, fundamental to guaranteeing the regularity, finesse, and precision of their blends. Both the number of years for which the bottles are aged on the lees and the conditions in which they’re kept influence the quality of the wines. As such, the Brut Réserve “Invitation” will age for on average three years, while the Sélection“Instantanée” will stay in the cellars for six.
