About the Producer
Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy is a family-run winery located in the Gevery-Chambertin appellation of the Cote de Nuits in Burgundy, France. Château Armand Jaffe follows traditional techniques in the production of its wines, while constantly innovating. During the harvest season, the grapes are carefully selected by hand and picked bunches by bunches, 100% destemmed and then cold macerated for about 5 days to extract the full flavour and tannins from the skins. The must is then subjected to alcoholic fermentation on the skins for 15-21 days under controlled conditions. The fermented liquid is then transferred to oak barrels for ageing for 12-16 months, with 20-40% of new barrels used for village and first growth wines and 90% of new barrels used for Grand Cru wines. The wines of Château Aman-Jeff are currently produced at four levels: Grand Cru, 1er Cru, Village and Regional Burgundy. The wines are of excellent quality and are loved by wine lovers and have been awarded one and two stars by the Guide Hachette des Vins, the "bible of French wine". Among them are the Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France and the Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy Mazis-Chambertin Old Vine, Cote de Nuits, France. Harmand-Geoffroy Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, Cote de Nuits, France) have performed extremely well and have been awarded the Coup de Coeur, the highest accolade of the Birchers' Wine Guide, for several years.
