About the Producer
The legacy of Domaine Bocard, a boutique family winery, stems from the family's passion for grapes and their love for the estate. Founded in 1920 with just 2 hectares of land in Meursault village, the Bocard family began planting Chardonnay extensively in the 1950s under the leadership of the second generation. In 1959, the estate was modernized with mechanization and started bottling and selling their wines themselves. Under the guidance of the third generation, Guy Bocard, the estate continued to expand its vineyards, reaching around 5.8 hectares. In recent years, the estate has transitioned to organic farming practices, receiving certification in 2019. However, in 2018, Guy sold the estate to the Derichebourg family, who restructured and upgraded the facilities in 2019, including opening a new shop. Despite the change in ownership, Guy and his daughter continue to manage the winery. The 5.8-hectare vineyard is mainly planted with Chardonnay and Aligote, with most of the vines being over 50 years old and producing low yields. The vineyards are located in Meursault village, including premier cru vineyards such as Charmee and Genevrieree, as well as scattered premier cru vineyards in Auxey-Duresses.
