About the Producer
Domaine Gilles Morat is located in the picturesque village of Vergisson in southern Burgundy, covering 7 hectares. Founded by Gilles and Joëlle Morat, the domaine employs an artisan approach to winemaking, with a strong emphasis on natural and sustainable practices. All vineyard work, including harvesting, is done by hand, and the soils are ploughed to promote healthy vine growth. Since the 2022 vintage, the domaine has been certified organic. They produce six wines from Pouilly-Fuissé and two from Saint-Véran, showcasing the unique terroirs of Vergisson. The meticulous winemaking process results in rich, characterful wines that reflect their origins, with minimal intervention to allow the natural qualities of the grapes to shine through.
