Anything that didn't make the cut was sold off in bulk, so the 2021 Fugue de Nenin is the result of a severe selection. Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cassis and burning embers, it's medium-bodied, fleshy and charming, with melting tannins and a pure finish.

The 2021 Fugue de Nénin, which comes from younger vines, has a light bouquet of blackberry and crushed strawberry fruit mixed with cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannins on the entry, moderate depth and a touch of licorice toward the finish. It feels a bit brutish at the moment but a few months will soften its edges.

Chateau Nenin’s juicy and savory second wine, with blackberry, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. Orange-peel undertones with spices and cedar. Direct and focused. 98% merlot and 2% cabernet franc. Even better in a couple of years.
