About the Producer
Freemark Abbey's history began in 1886 when Josephine Tychson founded one of Napa Valley's original wineries in St. Helena. The winery was renamed Freemark Abbey in 1939 after its purchase by Charles Freeman, Markquand Foster, and Albert "Abbey" Ahern. In 1967, a partnership of Napa Valley grape growers acquired the winery, which quickly established a reputation for quality, particularly in producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Freemark Abbey focuses on crafting distinct single-vineyard wines from two of Napa Valley's standout vineyards in the Rutherford appellation: Bosche and Sycamore Cabernet Sauvignon, continuing its legacy of excellence.
