The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru lacks typicité on the nose: simple, rather honeyed and more like a generic Chardonnay. The palate is balanced but simple with overt tropical notes counterbalanced by a decent line of acidity, pineapple chunks and apricot on the finish. Bereft of a sense of place. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
