About the Producer
Fontanafredda is a historic estate located in the Piedmont commune of the same name, renowned as one of the region's great producers. Established in 1858 when King Vittorio Emanuele II of Sardinia purchased the land for his love, Rosa Vercellana, the estate began its winemaking journey in 1878 under her management and that of the king's son. Today, Fontanafredda encompasses 85 hectares of vineyards across Serralunga d'Alba, Diano d'Alba, Barolo, and Murisengo, primarily planted with Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Moscato. The winery features 19th-century cellars for red wines and modern facilities for white and sparkling wines.
