About the Producer
Domaine Roc de l’Abbaye, located in Saint-Satur, Sancerre, has winegrowing origins that date back to the 11th century. The region is renowned for its Silex (flint) terroir, which is found in only 15% of Sancerre's vineyards and is prized for producing wines with exceptional minerality, acidity, and smoky notes. The Mollet family has managed the estate for generations, with Florian Mollet at the helm since 2000, overseeing the expansion to 42 acres. The domaine features 12 parcels, primarily planted with 24 acres of Sauvignon Blanc and nearly 4 acres of Pinot Noir, along with 15 acres in Pouilly-Fumé. Their sustainable farming practices have earned two certifications, emphasizing ecosystem preservation and quality, resulting in fresh, textured wines that reflect the unique terroir.
