2021 Chardonnay Lancel Creek Vineyard comes from a west-facing site near Occidental, two mountain ridges in from the Pacific Ocean. It has pure scents of nectarine, quince peel, spring honey, toast and crème fraîche. The palate is silky, detailed and elegant. It balances concentrated, honey-nut flavors with firm, linear acidity, and its chalky mineral character creates even more tension and energy. This dynamic Chardonnay will gain savory complexity in bottle over the next 10-15 years.

The 2021 Chardonnay Lancel Creek Vineyard is an engaging, alluring wine, the kind of Chardonnay that offers a warm embrace. Lemon confit, mint and spice fill out the layers. The Lancel Creek is distinguished by its mid-palate texture and creaminess from the Montrachet clone that is planted here. Readers will have a hard time resisting this.
