Blended of 55% DuMOL Estate vineyard and 45% Occidental Road vineyards, the 2014 Pinot Noir Finn has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and notes of black cherries, black raspberries and anise plus underlying suggestions of yeast, potpourri, underbrush and cedar. Medium to full-bodied with plenty of opulent fruit on offer, it has a seamless backbone of very fine tannins and gorgeous freshness, finishing long and minerally.

The Pinot Noir Finn is one of the most tightly wound wines in this lineup. Energetic yet closed in on itself, the 2014 is going to need at least a few years in bottle to blossom. The power and density are there, along with plenty of dark red to bluish fruits, but the tannins are nearly overpowering today. There is so much going on in the Finn, a wine with a prism-like personality that shows multiple shades of dimension with each taste. I especially admire the wine's energy and delineation.
