Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Stephen Tanzer
Medium red. Aromas of cherry, blueberry, raspberry and menthol. Tangy and savory, offering good cut but modest flesh to the flavors of black cherry, pungent red berries, licorice and menthol. Finishes a touch green, with fine-grained tannins and a note of tart red cherry.

(vinified with 10% whole clusters): Bright red-ruby. Pure, high-pitched aromas of blackberry, blueberry, violet and crushed rock, plus a piquant hint of pepper. At once sappy and silky on the palate, showing a richer and more pliant texture than the preceding Côte de Beaune samples. Crushed dark berry flavors display excellent lift on the long, ripely tannic back end.

A little light but has some pretty berry, cedar and spice character. Medium body. It starts off lightly, but then develops nicely. Drink or hold.
