Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Neal Martin
The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru, volume reduced by half, has a slightly reduced yet compelling bouquet with yellow fruit, hazelnut, sea spray and light chalky notes that blossom in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a concentrated opening thanks to those 95-year-old vines, powerful and perhaps the densest wine with plenty of extract on the finish. Expect a long-term Meursault here.

The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is lovely, exhibiting aromas of pear, peach and lemon mingled with buttery pastry, marzipan and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a fleshy core of fruit girdled by racy acids, it displays fine depth and cut.
