Tasting notes

The gorgeous 2022 Gigondas Le Lieu Dit dazzles right away. Pronounced raspberry and strawberry notes mingle with scents of mango, fresh mint and a dash of white pepper. Look out for this single-varietal Grenache—it bursts with personality and complexity. Despite its 15.4% alcohol and full body, this 2022 red feels remarkably light on its feet. This cuvée emerges from 60-year-old vines grown on a parcel with a distinctive cooling influence, derived from its northwestern exposure at the edge of a forest. Fermentation included 30% whole clusters.

Crafted from old Grenache Noir facing north, the 2022 Gigondas Le Lieu Dit reveals aromas of peonies, iris, smoke and a delicate touch of reduction. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and concentrated, it has a controlled power framed around velvety tannins and a long, spicy and elegant finish. This is a real success.
