Tasting notes

The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc leads with a distinct nose of freshly picked curry leaf, crushed sea shells, lemon zest, asphalt, mustard seed, dried coriander/coriander seed and white flesh orchard fruit. This is powerfully fruited, has great energy and drive and, unsurprisingly, offers great pleasure and satisfying drinking. This is a very smart, savory wine here. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
About the Producer
Dog Point Winery is a brand co-created by two experts from Cloudy Bay, Ivan Sutherland, a former vineyard, and James Healy, another former packager. After they left Cloudy Bay, they returned to the land Sutherland bought and created their own Dog Point brand. A complete transplant of the original and most successful Cloudy Bay series, it has been praised by international wine critics as the brand that best represents New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. A real piece of work by Blanc! . Marlborough, located at the bottom of the South Island, used to be dominated by the livestock industry. In less than 50 years since the peanut industry began to develop, it has become the veritable "Sauvignon Blanc Capital of the World". The reason why Marlborough is suitable for peanuts is that it has sufficient sunshine and little rainfall. It grows in the southeastern season and has a large temperature difference between day and night. The grapes are dried at night and cooled at night, cultivating fruits with rich fruit flavor and high acidity.
