The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Champeaux is especially suave and charming this year, wafting from the glass with aromas of plums, cherries, rose petals, orange zest and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and perfumed, with supple tannins and a seamless, harmonious profile, it concludes with a long, saline finish.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux 1er Cru comes from 70- to 80-year-old vines farmed by horse and includes one-third whole bunches with the main stem removed. The bouquet is well-defined with perfumed red berry fruit, marmalade, and damp earth coming through with time in the glass. The palate is elegant and harmonious, an understated Gevrey with shimmering red fruit and plenty of mineralité on the finish. This is linear and strict yet draws you in with each sip. Superb.
