Domaine Clair-Daü, established in 1919 by Joseph Clair in Marsannay, Burgundy, was renowned for its high-quality wines, including Grand Crus like Bonnes-Mares and Musigny. Clair-Daü played a pivotal role in reviving Marsannay’s vineyards post-World War I, replacing Gamay and Aligoté with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The domaine also innovated by producing Marsannay Rosé during the 1920s and 1930s. Despite its dissolution in 1985 due to inheritance issues, Clair-Daü’s legacy endures, with its wines still highly sought after by Burgundy enthusiasts.
