Tasting notes

Reviewed by: Neal Martin
The 2015 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a high-toned and very floral bouquet, coalescing with aeration to offer plump red cherries and wild strawberry fruit. The fresh, vital palate is medium-bodied, featuring blackberry and raspberry flavors and assiduous use of new oak toward the bright, vivacious finish. Certainly one of the better Clos des Chênes among the quintet. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
