Reduced nose offers a hint of caramel. Rich and unctuous but not especially sweet, conveying a hint of burnt match and a tropical passion fruit note to its flavors of ripe peach and spices. The wine's creamy, almost oily thickness reflects the very small crop level (around 30 hectoliters per hectare) produced by these very old vines in 2017. Finishes slightly edgy--and not as smooth as the two Meursault Charmes examples.
