The 2021 Barolo Cannubi is another terrific wine from Brezza. Readers should expect a relatively stern Cannubi, a Barolo that emphasizes structure and tension over the sensuality that is such a signature of this site. Time in the glass brings out scents of dried rose petal, espresso, mint, dried herbs and crushed autumn leaves. This will be especially fine if the tannins soften.
About the Producer
The Brezza private estate lies next to the small town of Barolo, immersed in the vineyards, as is the nearby Hotel Barolo and Restaurant Brezza, also property of the Brezza family. The estate extends over 31 hectars, of which 20 are vineyards, some dating back to 1885. The wines are all certified as DOCG “Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita” (controlled and guaranteed appellation of origin) or DOC “Denominazione Origine Controllata” (controlled appellation of origin).
