About the Producer

Brendan Stater-West, an expat and wine enthusiast, found his passion for wine while teaching in Paris. Inspired by a coworker and exposed to professional tastings, his love for wine grew. Leaving teaching, Brendan pursued a career in the wine industry, working in a retail store in Paris. It was there that he encountered Domaine Guiberteau's wines and experienced a revelation of limestone terroir through Chenin. Seeking a more rural context, Brendan apprenticed under Romain Guiberteau and enrolled in viticulture and winemaking programs. In 2015, he started making his own wine from the Les Chapaudaises vineyard, crafting elegant, pure, and saline Chenin Blanc.
