Tasting notes

Aromas of cassis, plums, peonies, dark chocolate, exotic spices and loamy soil preface Bouchard's 2019 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine that's layered and perfumed, concluding with a long, resonant finish.

The 2019 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from purchased grapes as usual. It has a fragrant bouquet of red berry fruit suffused with potpourri and rose petals. The cohesive palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a cashmere texture toward the finish. There is still a little new oak to be subsumed, but this shows very good potential.
