Tasting notes

The 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is youthfully reticent, unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, coniferous forest floor, exotic spices, smoked duck and orange zest. Full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's pure and concentrated, with vibrant acids and a long, penetrating finish.

The 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, which includes 100% whole bunches, has quite a pronounce steaminess on the nose, more than the Echézeaux. The palate is quite effervescent on the entry, creamy in texture, though it lacks the complexity and focus of Bouchard's other Grand Crus and tapers slightly towards the finish. It just misses the flair of other vintages.
