Made from 100% Merlot since all the Cabernet Franc went into the Grand Vin. A deep garnet core with pink rim. The nose displays good fruit intensity, quite floral with touches of maraschino cherry and Doris plum. A soft entry on the palate with succulent tannins, no sign of any greenness and a very supple, ripe blackberry and strawberry finish marked by silky tannins. Very fine. Tasted April 2008.

About the Producer
The Blason de L'Evangile, chosen from vats with the same bases as the great wine, presents characteristics close to the great wine with, however, a lesser aging potential since its aging in barrels is shorter. It should be drunk younger than its elder.
