More than 120 Scottish whisky distilleries are nestled in the small region of Speyside in the north of Scotland. The abundance of pure water from the River Spey, combined with an ideal climate, has led to the establishment of hundreds of distilleries over the centuries. Notably, the village of Dufftown, with its roughly one thousand residents and seven active distilleries, can rightfully claim the title of World Whisky Capital. From this prime location, the historic Balvenie, founded in 1892, has chosen to preserve traditional production methods.
