The 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a taut, delineated bouquet with crushed stone infusing the green apple and yellow plum fruit. Very focused and it gains intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a beautiful line of acidity that slices through the quite concentrated citrus fruit. The oak (two one-year-old barrels) remains politely in the background. It fans out wonderfully on the finish. Exquisite.

From young vines in the Clos Poirier, Moreau's 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru offers up aromas of minty orchard fruit, peach, vanilla pod and drawn butter. Full-bodied, ample and layered, it's rich and impressively concentrated, with succulent acids and a saline finish.

Domaine Bernard Moreau, based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy, has a rich history dating back to 1809. Now led by the talented young winemaker Alex Moreau, the domain follows a natural, non-interventionist approach in the vineyards and cellar. Known for its elegant, mineral-driven whites, the estate's most famous vineyard is the 0.35-hectare Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Grandes Rouchotes.
